How our oven cleaning works
Oven cleaning with us is a full strip down rather than a wipe over. We take the oven apart, including the door, so we can reach the inner glass, and the racks, trays, shelves and liners go into a heated tank to soak while the cavity is treated by hand. Everything goes back together before we leave, and the oven is ready to use straight away with no fumes and no smell on your first roast.
A single oven is usually a two to three hour job, and a double oven or a range takes a little longer. We work all across Eastbourne and East Sussex, and we are perfectly happy to do it while you are out.
The hob, the extractor and everything around it
Most people booking an oven would quite like the rest of the cooking area seen to at the same time, and it does work out cheaper as one visit. We clean hobs, whether gas, ceramic or induction, and lift off burnt sugar and boiled over pans without scouring the surface. We clean extractor hoods and either degrease or replace the filters, which is the bit almost everyone forgets and the bit that holds the smell. Microwaves, grills, warming drawers and all the trim and handles are included too, along with the sides and floor around the appliance, since pulling a cooker out is usually the only time anybody sees back there.
If you are moving out, oven cleaning already comes as part of our End of Tenancy Cleaning rather than being charged on top.
Why soaking works better than scrubbing
The caustic sprays you can buy in a supermarket do a decent job on light grease, but they struggle with carbonised deposit, which is the hard black layer that has been baked on again and again. Scrubbing that by hand swallows an afternoon, scratches the enamel, and rarely gets the racks truly clean.
Soaking in a heated tank dissolves the carbon off racks and trays without any abrasion at all, so the metal comes out clean rather than scoured. The cavity is treated with products made for enamel, and taking the door apart is the only way to reach the film that builds up between the panes. It lasts longer, and you get your Saturday back.
