What holiday let cleaning involves
A changeover is the turnaround of a property between one set of guests and the next, usually inside a few hours on the same day. We clean holiday lets across Eastbourne and East Sussex to checkout and check in times, which in practice means arriving once the last guests have gone and being finished before the next ones arrive.
A changeover takes in every room cleaned and reset, beds stripped and remade with fresh linen, kitchen and appliances including the oven and the fridge, bathrooms sanitised and restocked, floors throughout, bins emptied and put out for collection, and the property left presented rather than merely clean. There is more detail on our Changeover Cleans page.
Linen and laundry
Linen is the part most owners find hardest to manage from a distance, particularly if you live outside the area. We can supply, launder and change bed linen and towels as part of the changeover, so there is nothing for you to store, wash or deliver.
Everything comes back pressed and presented well, because guests notice bedding before almost anything else in a property. See Linen for how the service works and what it costs.
Presentation, not just cleanliness
These properties are judged by people paying for a few days away, and the standard is higher than a domestic clean. Cushions straightened, beds dressed, welcome items set out, remote controls where they should be, and the kettle, the bin and the fridge all ready for someone walking in with suitcases.
We also flag what we find. A cracked mug, a blown bulb, a tired towel, a leaking trap or damage a guest has not mentioned. You get told the same day, with photographs if it helps, which gives you the chance to deal with it before the next arrival rather than reading about it in a review.
Coastal properties and hot tubs
Lets along the Sussex coast bring particular problems. Sand travels through a property far further than anyone expects, salt air marks glass and metalwork quickly, and damp settles in properties that sit empty between bookings out of season.
If your property has a hot tub, it needs its own routine between guests rather than a wipe over, and we handle that as part of the changeover, following the HSE spa pool guidance. See Hot Tub Cleaning.
